PRACTICAL EDGE / LEARNING

Your next step.
Starts with you.

You might have a clear aim, or just the feeling that you want to move forward. Both are useful places to begin.

01
A LITTLE MORE CONFIDENCE

Begin with
something real.

Think of a situation you want to handle with more confidence. It might be a task you avoid, a process you want to understand or an idea you would like to put into practice. You don’t have to know the name of a course to explain what you want to achieve.

In your enquiry, describe what you can already do and where you would value more understanding or practice. Ask how any proposed learning would relate to that starting point and how you could recognise your own progress.

Talk about your starting point

02
A PRACTICAL PURPOSE

Connect learning
to your day.

A useful learning goal often begins in everyday work. You may want to understand a task more fully, prepare for a new responsibility or explore a change in direction. Explain the situation in your own words rather than trying to fit it into a course title.

If an employer is involved, clarify who needs to agree the objective, the time available and how the learning would be applied. We can use that context to discuss your enquiry; the content, delivery arrangements and suitability of any option need to be confirmed individually.

03
A FRESH BEGINNING

Find a rhythm
that feels possible.

Returning to learning does not mean starting from nothing. Your experience, interests and existing knowledge are part of the picture. Begin with a manageable aim and think about what would help you make time for it.

Ask about the expected study time, learning format and any entry requirements. If you need adjustments or have concerns about participating, raise them in your first conversation without sharing sensitive documents through the website. Any support arrangements should be discussed and confirmed directly.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Clarity is part
of the process.

Enquire first. Decide with the details.

This website provides a way to explore your goals and contact the academy. It is not a live course catalogue or an enrolment service. Ask us to confirm relevant learning options, content, requirements, format, fees, location and availability before making a commitment. No qualification or employment outcome is promised by an enquiry.

YOUR NEXT LEARNING CONVERSATION

Give your goal
a starting point.

Bring one thing you would like to learn, one example of where you would use it, and the questions you want to ask.
